Today was Allison's first day of Kindergarten. Holy cow! How did time go so fast?! When did she get so big?!
She was SUCH a big girl this weekend. She laid out all of her clothes for the week on the shelf in her closet. (She's had some issues breaking hangers lately!) This morning, she came down while I was in the shower completely dressed and ready to go. She had even put the shorts under her dress we had talked about. (Brandon was confused, but she straightened him out!)
1st day breakfast!
I made this for her teacher. I also made one for a friend from Jazzercise (who is a Kindergarten teacher) who really has helped me a lot this past year (getting ME ready and getting Allison ready!).

Say, "Hooray, Kindergarten!"
We had to park down the street and walk to the school. It was NUTS. (She said she wants me to walk her in again tomorrow so we might be walking again).
Outside the school (We had just run into our neighbors' dad). The girls were excited to see him!
We went into her classroom and she introduced herself to her teacher. Then she had to go find her spot and put on her nametag. Brandon helped her while I filled out a couple forms and put her name on the board for "car rider" pickup. (We live in a "bus fee" area because we're only 2 miles away from school. Doesn't matter that she'd have to cross railroad tracks, a state highway and a major road). So I'll be driving them to school for a while!
Jordan wanted to color SO badly!
"Seriously, stop taking pictures!"
Ta-da! She was writing her name on her page (unprompted!) when we left.
I held it together until we left her classroom. Then Jordan and I headed to Jazzercise to set up for a sale and then to a friend's house for a Boo-Hoo breakfast. Jordan didn't really act like she missed Allison at all but when Allison got home, Jordan got WOUND UP.
We had some issues at pickup. The line was INSANE. When you turn into the circle, a teacher gets your kid's name and grade and radios to the teacher where the kids are all waiting. Then she tells you which pickup location to go to. I got to our spot but there was no kid there. The teacher who was there said it's VERY common to have to call the kindergarteners like 15 times! When Allison got in the car, she said she was a little confused at pickup because there were so many kids.
She said her lunch was really good and she liked buying it. She had chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, grapes and milk. She said she sat next to a mom and the mom helped her with her milk.
She said they did "too much coloring." (She's not a huge fan!)
She also said she was confused on the playground because she wasn't sure which teacher blew the whistle. But then she heard her teacher say, "Allison!" so she knew it was her teacher that had whistled.
They had PE today and played in the gym. They read books and played games. And her day was FUN! "I had a good day" she said. She was exhausted when she got home. We'll see what time she goes to sleep tonight!
