Colorado Trip - Day One (well, really day 2)

We left Texas on Tuesday night.  Of course, our flight was delayed.  It actually wasn't too bad this time though.  We found the little kid sized table set in the airport and set up camp.  It was behind a gate podium that wasn't being used so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.  We ate dinner and let the girls play and run and take a LONG walk to the other end of the terminal.  Our flight that was supposed to leave at 7 finally left around 8 (bed time).

The plane ride was happily uneventful.  Brandon and I each had one of the girls with a bag of snacks, toys and a dvd player.  The girls snacked and watched movies the whole way.  Of course right when we were close to landing, they got sleepy.  So getting to baggage claim and waiting F O R E V E R for car seats was kind of a pain.  But they perked up when they saw Grandma and Grandpa!

We had some issues with Allison's car seat but finally got it in and headed to Brandon's parents' house.  The girls each had their OWN toddler sized bed in Grandma and Grandpa's room.  It was a little bit of drama because Allison got upgraded from her normal red Elmo bed to a white Princess bed.  But being the smart cookie that she is, Grandma convinced Allison that she could only sleep with Grandma's Princess Bear in the Princess bed (thankfully, it worked!).

The next morning, Brandon and I left early.  We went into Denver to go to the King Tut exhibit at the Art Museum.  We tried to go to the Hop's in Northglenn, but it's no longer a Hop's.  Oops.  So we headed back to Golden.  Where we got to eat OUTSIDE.  This was huge because at the time, we were dealing with an infestation of mosquitos back in Houston.  You couldn't even walk to your car IN THE GARAGE without being bit.  Being outside was a joke.  We decided to go from Hop's to Coor's.  We called Emily and luckily, she had the day off so she and Ali met us there.  Talk about cute!  (Ali must TOTALLY take after Emily!).  :)

While we were gone, Brandon's parents watched the girls.  They ate breakfast.  Swam.  Ate lunch.  Napped.  Swam some more.

I really don't remember what else happened that day.  I didn't take any other pictures and Kevin's camera's date/time was off, so I'm guessing.  I think we went out to eat at Old Chicago, but I'm not sure.
