Girls Visit San Antonio (July 2010)

This is a LONG one!!

In late June/early July, the girls went to stay with my mom and dad for a week.  Unfortunately, Brandon ended up working late most every night, but we did still have some fun without them!  We went out to eat to places they don't like.  We went to a movie.  We had a bunch of his fraternity brothers over and had a fraternity party.  We spent the day lying on the couch recovering from said party.  :)  Overall, it was a nice releaxing week.

The same cannot be said about the girls' week (well, it was nice but I don't think it was relaxing!)
The first few are actually from early June when we made a trip to SA for Emma's birthday party.  The girls didn't really sleep on the way and we left straight from swim lessons.  But for the most part, they were champs!

Jordan LOVED playing outside (can you see how red she is?).
Of course, they loved the snacks!
But Allison got sleepy.  Overall it was a great weekend (even if it was short).  The girls had fun at the party and then fun at my mom and dad's.  I got to catch up with some friends I hadn't seen since high school, so that was great!

This is the start of their week with Nana and Papa.

We let them take some dress up clothes (because while Mom has a bunch of toys, I don't think Allison could survive a week without her dresses!)

They made Papa play ring around the rosie.
And he loved snuggling with the girls.
I think this was his favorite part though - the Snake Farm in New Braunfels.
Jordan TOTALLY got into it.  She'd peek into all the cages and stay there until she found the snake, frog, whatever.
Allison, however, was NOT a fan.
She did better with the petting zoo part.  Apparently furry creatures are more her speed.

And what trip to Nana and Papa's would not be complete without ice cream - McDonald's sundaes this time!
This is her other favorite game - cover you with stuffed animals.
The girls have their own little table there.
And of course, they got to go out to eat (and get more ice cream).

They took a trip to Sea World.  And while Papa was explaining and helping Allison with this game, Jordan had already scooped up a duck.  In fact, scooped up a "LARGE PRIZE" duck.
Here's Jordan and her duck.  (You can kind of see Allison's duck there too, on the right).  Plus, both girls got stuffed penguins.  Oh, did I mention that they got stuffed animals at the Snake Farm and the Zoo?  (Because in that picture of my dad, it looks like they need more stuffed animals!)  Do those girls look tired or what?!
But I don't think you can ever be too tired for CUPCAKES!
Well, maybe Allison can be.
Not Jordy!!
Yum!!
Jordan SUPERVISED with sprinkles.

Voila!  Masterpieces!
Tasting their art
They got to go to the Children's Museum.  (Which by the way, the San Antonio Children's Museum looks like FUN!!)

And look what Jordan learned to do!

The stuff in Jordan's cart cracks me up!  Tuna and sunscreen.

Driving the train

Jordan could color for HOURS.

At Bass Pro (notice the pink camo dog).

They had a great time, but it was time for their fun to end.  Brandon and I drove down (with all the animals) for 4th of July and to pick the girls up.
We headed to Sea World.
And we met Mike and Mary in Gruene for lunch.

Jordan started fading.  And she wasn't a fan of Mike because she snuck up behind her when they got there.

But eventually, they got to be friends!
Even though they were tired, the girls were really good hanging out on the swings while Mom, Mary and I shopped.

Some more new stuff (courtesy of Mike and Mary!)

Watermelon Face!!

All in all, they had a GREAT time.  Brandon and I had a good week too although it was EERILY quiet in our house.  And the dogs were a little freaked out by the whole thing.  The girls had fun though and that's what counts.  And they were VERY good.  Jordan didn't have a single accident!!  Go Nana!
