That means that Jordan is now ONE! Wow. It seems like just yesterday she looked like this:
This past year has just FLOWN by for us. She is now crawling on all fours (after a LONG journey army crawling on her belly), pulling up to "cruise" on EVERYTHING, and trying her hardest to walk. She loves to say "mama" to EVERYONE but especially Brandon. She says it and then laughs. She has said "dada" a couple of times but seems to find it funnier that she calls him "mama". She also says, hi, bye, thank you, Elmo, and has said dog a couple of times. The thank you just started a few days ago. She likes to give you something then say thank you then wait for you to give it back to her and then say thank you again.
I am so incredibly thankful to my mom and dad for taking Allison this past weekend. It was wonderful to have so much one-on-one time with Jordan. We really think she came out of her shell a lot. (Not that she was in a very big shell!) But it's amazing to see how much she grew up after just a weekend of not having her big sister around to steal all the toys.
Jordan had a very good birthday. She got her birthday glazed donut for breakfast and LOVED it. She was a lot more sure of what to do with it than Allison was.
Her party was at a splashpark here in town. It was supposed to be at one near our house but that one was closed for maintenance. So we did it at the other one. And when we got there, the water wasn't working. Luckily, there is a regular playground attached to the splash area, so the kids were able to play and snack and have cake all before the water came on. (And then wash the icing down the drains!)
Here she is licking the icing off the candle. We couldn't get the lighter to work, so her candle wasn't really lit. Poor second kid.
This is AFTER her cupcake. Note the amount of leg COVERED in icing (both her and Brandon's).

Yes, she is trying to lick the water.

Sadly, this is the best family picture we got! After splashing, we went to BK for lunch and Jordan slept almost the entire time we were there. She was birthday-ed out! She woke up in a pretty good mood right before we left for Sean and Lindsey's. Mom wanted to see Ethan and give them a present so since we were on their side of town, we barged in. He's getting so big already! He is ADORABLE! And both girls seem to love him.
Then it was home for nap. A nice LONG nap. For all of us. Mom and I were going to try to make Jazzercise but it didn't happen. Naps took priority. :)
It was a really great day. I can't believe my baby is 1 already. (And just because I know a few of you are going to ask, no, there are no plans for Schrenk #3 at this point).
