San Antonio and St Louis Trip

Thursday was Allison's "first" dentist appointment. (She went in December but the dentist didn't like thumbsuckers, so we decided to go somewhere else). She did SO good. The dentist and the hygeinist were very nice and made multiple comments on how well behaved she was. Then we got in the car and drove to San Antonio for our trip to St. Louis.

In San Antonio, we got to visit with my very close friend Stacey (from middle school and high school). Her little baby Emma is 3 weeks younger (to the day!) than Jordan. It’s amazing what a difference those few weeks makes.

The trip to St. Louis was for my Uncle Derek's wedding. Mom and I had a little bit of drama with Allison in San Antonio (imagine a 2 year old throwing herself on the floor in front of the metal detector while her mom helplessly stands watching holding the 1 month old sister and then the security guard on the other side gets down on her knees and convinces said 2 year old to crawl through the machine.....yeah, that was us). Both girls did well on the flight even though I had to sit on the 2 seat side holding Jordan and sitting next to Allison. (So much for having mom there to help me!) Our next drama was that it was raining when we were installing car seats into the rental car. Whoohoo. Then, we couldn't get into the valet parking line at our hotel (the only way to park at this hotel). Luckily we saw the bride who ran out and stopped traffic so we could get in. Nice. At this point, Jordan is SCREAMING because she's hungry. So we get up to the room (on the only 1 out of 4 elevators working) and I feed her. Mom takes Allison to the bride's family's hospitality suite. Allison eats Milk Duds. That's right, Milk Duds. Oh, and she took a bite of a Triscuit and put it back in the bowl. Note to self....don't let her loose around food.

The rehearsal dinner was fantastic. It was at the Schlafly Tap Room in downtown St. Louis. They had kids meals for the kiddos (and Allison proceeded to eat her bowl of ketchup like she does her yogurt). Again, we had a little bit of drama...this time waiting for the cab to come pick us up. Overall, a great night. Watching Allison and my cousin Anna chase each other was great. They are so cute together!!

Saturday my dad came into town. We went and ate lunch at St Louis Bread Company and then walked over to the new Busch Stadium. I got some GREAT pictures of my dad and Allison. I think they look fake! It was HOT.

The wedding was BEAUTIFUL. It was outside at a park but we sat in the shaded area and it was very nice. We then took an even bigger "Bean family picture" than we took at Michael's wedding. It was so nice to get to see so much of my family in one place! We had a little drama getting to the wedding but got it all straightened out.

The reception was even more beautiful than the wedding. It was at Windows Off Washington. There was more drama trying to get a kids meal to Allison (which we had requested) and trying to find a high chair for her. Note to anyone who is in the restaurant business....BRING KIDS PLATES OUT FIRST. After Allison got food, she was happy. Then we had a limo ride back to our hotel. (My kids got their first limo rides at almost 2 and just over a month!)

(Jordan didn't like her limo ride as much as Allison did!)

The airplane ride back was not as great (even though I had mom AND dad helping me). Jordan screamed most of the flight. Poor little thing. I think she has some gassiness issues. Then the girls and I drove back to Houston on Monday.
