Here are some of our "pre-Christmas" activities.
This was an almost daily occurrence. The girls decided that since there were animals in the Nativity scene, they need to bring down ALL of their Little People and Little People Animals (we have the zoo, the farm and some other random ones). The got lined up in various shapes but we really thought this one was cool.
Our neighborhood Home Owner's Association did a hayride this year. It was VERY cool! One of the trucks pulled a trailer set up with hay bales and lights and he blasted Christmas music out of his back window. They had cider and cookies setup while you were waiting. The only bad thing? While we were on the ride, a portion of our neighborhood lost power. This portion was only 15-20 houses or so but almost ALL were decorated. Including ours. But the girls had a really good time! (And we got power back about 2-3 hours later).
We made sugar cookies (not my mom's recipe but they were still good!)
Jordan's (I let the girls pick their shapes and I cut them. They did the decorating though!)
Allison's
The girls got letters from SANTA!!! They were VERY excited to read them!
One of the moms in our group hosted a pancake breakfast. She had homemade cranberry butter (YUM-O!!) and the kids made their own juice and ate pancakes and watched The Polar Express. It was SUPER laid back - everyone was in their jammies! VERY fun! (And delicious!)
Here's Allison with the stickers from her orange on her face. (She LOVED her Santa hat and went through a phase for 10 days or so where she HAD to wear it).
Jordan wasn't quite as tall! (Or as interested but she was a good sport!)
