Dora Birthday Party

One of the moms in my playgroup does really cool birthday parties. She had done a Dora themed adventure for her 2nd daughter (that we missed). Daughter #3 chose a Dora theme also for her 2nd birthday. Luckily, we were able to make this one!!

The girls got "backpacks" when they got there. Inside was a map, an undecorated maraca and an undecorated telescope.

First, we had to decorate the maraca and telescope:

When everyone had decorated and was ready, we set off on our adventure. Swiper had stolen Peyton's candle and hidden it in the Princess castle (a moon jump). First we had to go through the bubble garden. Next we had to climb the mountain (their playset). Last was something with the maraca (but I can't remember what). Then we had to get to the Princess castle and let Peyton go inside and get her candle. Luckily, we did it! Yay!

After we got the candle, we had cake and yummy snacks. Then the kids got to do a pinata. They each got a balloon and a Dora paperback book as a party favor (in addition to their "backpack"). Such an awesome party!!!

We had plans for lunch, so we left and headed to a new Chinese place. The girls were VERY good (even though they were hopped up on sugar!) And the food was good too.

We got home and put the girls down for naps (and we took naps too!). Allison came downstairs after about an hour but laid with Brandon in the chair. He woke up after another hour and this is what remained.....for another HOUR AND A HALF. That's right, 3.5 hour nap. Awesome.
