One of the things I think I like the best about being in a playgroup and staying home with the kids this time of year is that they get TONS of mileage out of their Halloween costumes!
We always have a Halloween Party for Playgroup at one of the mom's houses. She LOVES decorating for Halloween and pretty much replaces all of her regular decor with Halloween decor. She gets REALLY into it! This year, the newest additions were a lifesize talking Hannibal Lecter statue in the dining room and framed horror movie posters all over the house.
Of course, the girls had to check out the snacks!
And obviously, this is not my child. But I LOVED this picture of me for some reason. (Plus, the little pumpkin is just TOO cute!!)
The kids got to play outside. (Just for reference, the Vampire bride next to Allison is the daughter of the mom who throws the party. Needless to say, she's into it too!)
Some of the decorations, like the lifesize witch who stirs a bubbling pot, are a little scary to some of the kids. So we were trying to convince Allison and Jordan that it wasn't scary and if they listened to the music, it was kind of silly and that they should dance. So Allison spun on the chair.
And then danced around the living room. The little pirate guy was completely mesmerized by the witch, as was an 18 month old pumpkin who just sat in front of it and stared the whole time.
It was a BLAST, as always. And there were tons of yummy snacks and the kids got goodie bags with candy and Halloween toys, stickers, etc. I love my mom's group!!
