Allison's PT Eval

Well, Allison had her Physical Therapy Evaluation this week. It went really well! The lady kept saying, "Wow...she's smart!" so that made me feel good. She really doesn't think there's anything "wrong" with her beyond building some muscle and muscle tone in her legs (she has "weak muscles"). We are supposed to get her some higher ankled "walker" shoes and the therapist is going to tape one of Allison's feet with this sticky athletic tape stuff to try to turn it in (it's a little bit of a duck foot right now). We are also supposed to work on her "mid-range" motions. Right now, all Allison does is either standing or sitting. Mid-range would be if she squats to pick things up. So we're supposed to put a stool or something at about her knee level and put things on it while she's standing and playing and encourage her to pick them up. Allison was on her best behavior at the clinic. She was VERY comfortable there (which made me feel great!). She said all of her words back to the therapist, told her what sounds a cow and a sheep make and even waved bye-bye to all of the office staff, while they were looking at her! Then when we got home, she did 3 new signs - toothbrush, stars, and bath. Then the next day, she signed "please". Yay! I think she's finally getting it!!


Mom and I made our plane reservations for June to go to St. Louis for Uncle Derek's wedding. Yes, Mom and I are flying with BOTH girls!!! Allison will have her own seat (she has her own Frequent Flyer number now). Brandon and I will hopefully be making our reservations for June soon. We will be bringing both girls to Colorado for almost a week!! So those of you near Longmont, be ready to see some adorable kids!!
